In this video (1990) Marija Gimbutas herself speaks of her work, and it’s wonderful to see and hear her enthusiasm. PaGaian Cosmology, and most other current Goddess research and practice, is indebted to the work Marija Gimbutas.

Then there is Signs Out of Time – the documentary about her life and work by Donna Read and Starhawk.

And this: Archaeomythology was formulated by archaeologist Marija Gimbutas.

The Institute of Archaeomythology is an international organization of scholars dedicated to fostering an interdisciplinary approach to cultural research with particular emphasis on the beliefs, rituals, social structure and symbolism of past and present societies. The Institute encourages dialogue among specialists from diverse fields by sponsoring international symposia, by publishing collected papers and monographs, and by promoting creative collaboration within an atmosphere of mutual support.

    thanks… I’ve loved & followed Marija’s work for decades & adore her. Yes–there have been women– artists & priestesses–who have contributed much of what Marija has spoken & written about (thinking about how many actually give credit to Merlin Stone) yet in her role of archaeologist & respected academic–she has provided great service to the Goddess. (I’m subscribed now too 😀 )
